Zurich Instruments’ groundbreaking invention, the SHFQC, is the first of its kind qubit controller that has the ability to control, readout and perform fast feedback on up to 6 qubits. The SHFQC offers a comprehensive and clean instant bandwidth of 1 GHz and accommodates readout and control frequencies of up to 8.5 GHz without requiring mixer calibration.

Description
The quantum analyzer readout channel and the six signal generator control channels in the SHFQC can be activated and controlled independently. Fast feedback and a flexible and software-regulated reconfiguration of the qubit control system are enabled by core data and trigger distribution.
Effective pulse-level sequencing in the arbitrary waveform generators can be used to generate complex gate sequences by programming the control channels. Either time-staggered or in a parallel configuration, the readout channel can analyze up to 16 qubits, 8 qutrits or 5 ququads in real-time.
The optimization of readout latency and signal-to-noise ratio can be achieved through the matched multifaceted filters and tight combination with the control channels.
End-to-end features such as high-level integration through LabOne, the fast accomplishment of a resonator spectrum, the LabOne QCCS Software or the drivers and Application Programming Interface for Python shorten and speed up not only system characterization and tune-up but also algorithm execution.
Applications
The SHFQC can be integrated easily into any new or existing Zurich Instruments Quantum Computing Control System. The SHFQC can add fast local feedback to the existing error correction capabilities, and so each SHFQC can minimize the complications of small qubit setups and scale up to systems of 100 qubits and more.
