StremDots™ – CdSe Core Quantum Dots with CdS, ZnSe and ZnS Shells

Strem Chemicals provides fluorescent quantum dots (Figure 1) in the following structures:

  • Core – CdSe
  • Core/Shell – CdSe/CdS
  • Core/Shell/Shell – CdSe/ZnSe/ZnS

The CdSe core has a highly uniform structure with a narrow particle size distribution of ±10%. The CdS or ZnSe shell is below 1nm and provides stability to the core. The second shell of ZnS has a thickness range of 1-2nm and provides additional stability. The characteristics and corresponding ligand capping agent for each structure are listed in the following table:
