Research Interests:
Martin Sieber main interests lie in asymptotical approximations for wave theories that are valid in the limit of short wave lengths. Examples are semiclassical approximations in quantum mechanics and geometrical optics. He has been working on the connection between quantum chaos and random matrix theory, on bifurcations of periodic orbits, on the semiclassical treatment of diffraction, and on semiclassical theories for wavefunctions. A further field of research covers microlasers.
